3 Ways We’re Keeping Your Safety in Mind

Women at dentist in clean dental office.Dental offices are some of the cleanest places, but it’s normal to be concerned about your safety amid the COVID-19 crisis. As we open our doors to serve our patients, your safety is our top priority. Although we’ve always had strict sanitary protocols, we’ve revamped our policy to include advanced solutions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. You can rest assured you and your smile are in good hands when visiting our office.

1. Improved Personal Protection

Everyone in our office has recently completed additional training to improve their awareness about the importance of personal hygiene and protection. Besides daily health checks and frequent handwashing, our team is also keeping their long hair pulled back and leaving their jewelry at home. You’ll also notice we’re keeping our fingernails short.

Your dental team will also wear the appropriate masks, face shields, and gloves while in the office and when with patients. At the end of the day, we’ll change out of our work clothes to prevent any potential germs or bacteria from leaving the office. Our team also uses disposable coverings to reduce transmitting the virus.

2. Enhanced Sanitation Techniques

We raise the bar for reducing the transmission of coronavirus, as well as many other pathogens. We use the CDC-approved instrument sterilization protocol. We have also stepped up our cleaning routine. We are allowing more time between patients to thoroughly clean the office between visits. We also deep clean every night to start the next day with a sterile environment. To reduce the risk of unwanted germs in the office, we’ve also added a hospital-grade sanitizing station, which we’ll ask you to use before entering our clinical area.

3. Promoting Social Distancing

Social distancing is essential for combating the spread of COVID-19. We’ve stopped providing office tours to new patients before their initial appointment. In addition, we’ve created a virtual waiting room. This allows you to stay away from other patients and staff until it’s time to be directed to your treatment room. Before entering our office, we provide pre-screening for every patient. We’ll also ask you to dispose of your outside gloves before entering to minimize cross-contamination.

To make it easier to keep our patients safe, we aren’t seeing as many people each day to allow for more time between appointments. Don’t worry, we still offer block scheduling to accommodate your family. We have also adjusted our hours to accommodate at-risk patients. In some cases, we can even use teledentistry to save you an office visit for some consultations and follow-ups.

Stay Safe and Maintain Your Smile

As the country begins to reopen, you’ll see several changes to promote the health and safety of the community. Your dental care isn’t any different. You’ll enjoy a higher standard of care when achieving your oral health goals.
